The car was in the wrong, but the cyclist wasn't riding safely. When I ride, I'm always looking. Making sure cars are slowing down and aren't intending to tun where I'm riding. Driving defensively isn't just for driving cars.

I was on the porch)pattio of an apartment in KS.just chilling out and watching the storm and taking storm pictures. And lighting stuck the building!! Pretty much right next to me! It was flash of light, super loud!! Cone to find out from the nabur (shes a weather nut too) that lighting had struck the building!! Apparently some of the lighting (ball lighting) went into her room!! Scary! She said her ears popped! Other people in the building experienced the same(except the ball lighting). Pretty crazy to say i almost got stuck by lighting 😂.

This was basically like a hurricane, minus the storm surge.

Those are sprite lightning. up above the storm, it would look like red lightning going straight to the sky.

None of that is lightning, it's ALL transformers blowing, hundreds of them.

Ever been over a bridge in its middle in a dust/hailstorm? That experience is something else. Like you are in your car ascended to heavens above. Btw, the kind shown in this video happens at my hometown in the state of Jharkhand in India.. and many times there is just such lightning but with no rain. And there are always some people who die because of lightning strikes everyday.

We had a storm like this 5 years ago. I sat in our basement with our two little boys and my husband and I prayed incredibly hard that night. Straight line winds can truly be just as terrifying if not more than a tornado because the winds stay sustained for so long.

A few years ago, I was iutside filming a storm rolling in. We had 114 MPH winds, and it literally pinned me against the wall of my house.

I see very similar storms like this in Alabama regularly. They are intense to say the least. Some years we have them almost every weekend the entire spring and summer.

Straight line winds can roll cars and bring down huge roofs and don't don't go out in any storm you can be killed it's serious folks

I watch live storm chasing every day, but that tornado siren in this clip is the scariest and most haunting siren I have ever heard, right up there with ww2 sirens. I cannot imagine how scary it would be hearing that when it's dark 😢

I'm afraid that, one of these days, we might experience what I call a Super Derecho! This would be a derecho with straight-line winds of at least 200 miles per hour -- basically the equivalent of an EF-5 tornado! I figure that some of the antecedent conditions for such an extreme severe thunderstorm complex would be temperatures in the mid to upper 90s, and dewpoints in the mid to upper 80s. While I don't think that kind of temperature/dewpoint combo is likely to occur in today's world, it might well occur in a warmer Earth, especially if some heat wave's heat dome extends through the entire Gulf of Mexico. This situation would MASSIVELY increase the Gulf's water temperature; and this would help foster the extremely high dewpoints that concern me so much! Basically, if the Gulf of Mexico's waters become as hot as the Persian Gulf's waters, then this would make these sorts of extreme temperature/dewpoint combinations. Not only would these combinations be extremely favorable for derechos; they would also make for dangerously high heat indices, such as 140 degrees F.!
